Hyatt acquired the Alila brand as part of the Two Roads Hospitality Acquisition. Currently, outside of Asia, the only Alila resort is Ventana Big Sur, which is an Alila Resort. But that will change in the next few years with the addition of the Encinitas Beach Resort Alila in the San Diego area.
Park Hyatt Auckland Now Accepting Reservations
The Park Hyatt Auckland will be a welcome addition to the luxury hotel market in New Zealand’s largest city. The hotel is now taking reservations and is set to open in March of 2020.

Over the past several years, Hyatt has done a great job expanding their footprint, particularly on the luxury side of the market. But Hyatt is still considerably smaller than Hilton and Marriott (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing). And there are a few cities which Hyatt could use a better presence. Here are a few cities that could use some love from Hyatt.
