Hyatt acquired the Alila brand as part of the Two Roads Hospitality Acquisition. The Alila brand is a luxury brand described as crafting rare and intimate life experiences.

Currently, outside of Asia, the only Alila property is in the San Francisco area, Ventana Big Sur, which is an Alila Resort.

But that will change in the coming years with the announcement of the first Alila branded resort in Europe, Alila La Gruyère in Switzerland and now an Alila Resort North of San Diego, Encinitas Beach Resort Alila.

The Encinitas Beach Resort Alila will be a 130 room luxury resort located in Encinitas Beach. Construction began on the luxury resort this past January. And from what we’ve heard (and this would be a pleasant surprise), construction is actually ahead of the schedule. The resort is hopeful they’ll open in the 4th quarter of 2020. Fingers crossed!
