New Hotels: More Destination Hotels & Residences Join World of Hyatt
Since Hyatt acquired Two Roads Hospitality, the integration of most of the brands into World of Hyatt has been fairly quick. But the Destination Hotel portfolio integration has been much slower, likely due to the complicated nature of the properties (some being hotels, resorts, vacation rentals, etc.).
Up until now, only eight Destination Hotels joined World of Hyatt.
On August 20, 2019, the following four Destination Hotels joined World of Hyatt:
Quirk Hotel – Richmond, Virginia (Category 3)
Motif Seattle – Seattle, Washington (Category 4)
Tempe Mission Palms Hotel & Conference Center – Tempe, Arizona (Category 3)
The Carolina Inn – Chapel Hill, North Carolina (Category 3)
On August 21, 2019, the following two Destination Hotels joined World of Hyatt:
The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch – Scottsdale, Arizona (Category 3)
Rizzo Center – Chapel Hill, North Carolina (Category 3)
And then on September 10, 2019, the following two Destination Hotels joined World of Hyatt:
The Elms Hotel & Spa – Excelsior Springs, Missouri (Category 2)
Hotel De Anza – San Jose, California (Category 4)
Since September 10th, there have been no additional Destination Hotels that have been integrated into World of Hyatt. And between September 10th and now, several Destination Hotels have opted to exit the Destination portfolio.
But last week, World of Hyatt announced that an additional three dozen Destination Hotels and Residences will be participating in the loyalty program as of today, November 12th.
There are a few caveats though:
Not all Destination Hotels residences will offer Globalist members free breakfast
Not all Destination Hotels residences will have standard room free night awards
So while you’re able to earn points at all of these properties, you won’t be able to redeem points at all of them. And a majority of them won’t offer elite benefits including globalist breakfast. Why? A lot of these properties are simply vacation rental communities with no restaurants. So these challenges that had to be worked through were likely part of the reason it took so long to integrate these three dozen properties into the World of Hyatt program.
Here is a list of the newly integrated Destination Hotels and Residences:

And remember, through December 31st, 2019, you can earn 2,000 bonus World of Hyatt points when you complete your first stay at a Destination Hotel.
So while a lot of these properties only give you the ability to earn points, there are some aspirational resorts like The Lodge at Kukui’ula that you can now redeem points for free nights. And despite the fact that The Lodge at Kukui’ula is a Category 8 in World of Hyatt requiring 40,000 points per night, entry level one bedroom cottages and villas often price at well over $1,000 a night. So redeeming points can still present a good value. And we toured this particular property earlier this month, and it truly is quite beautiful.
